Driving Forward: Saying Goodbye to Stretch Limos as We Reimagine Luxury Travel
Posted On: 07/23/2025
For decades, the stretch limousine has been an icon. They have been synonymous with luxury, celebrations, and milestone moments. At West Suburban Limousine, we’ve proudly carried that tradition through thousands of weddings, proms, galas, and once‑in‑a‑lifetime events since our start in 1966.
But industries evolve, and so do the needs of the people we serve. After careful consideration, we’re taking an important step in our rebrand and fleet strategy: we will be phasing out our stretch limousines by the end of this year.
Why The Change?
Times have changed, and so has the way people like to travel and celebrate. Today’s clients are looking for more than just a ride — they want space, flexibility, and amenities that match modern expectations.
Groups Want More Room to Celebrate
The demand for party buses and Sprinter‑style limousines has skyrocketed. These vehicles allow passengers to move around freely, socialize comfortably, and enjoy features like premium sound systems, lighting, and more headroom. They’ve become the go‑to choice for weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, concerts, and group outings.
That’s why we’re putting our focus on doubling the number of buses in our fleet by the end of the year. It’s an investment in what today’s riders truly want — luxury with a little extra room to make memories.
Families Need Flexible Luxury
Beyond big celebrations, many of our customers are looking for dependable, spacious vehicles for airport transfers, family trips, or corporate travel. Our luxury SUVs, like the Lincoln Navigators and Escalades, offer the perfect blend of comfort, safety, and elegance. They’ve quickly become a favorite for travelers who want more than just a ride.
Legacy Meets Practicality
Maintaining and insuring a fleet of stretch limousines has become less sustainable over time, especially as requests for them continue to decline. Instead of holding on to vehicles that no longer meet today’s demands, we’re channeling our resources into vehicles and services that truly serve our clients and reflect where the industry is headed.
What This Means for Current Bookings
If you’ve already reserved a stretch limo for a future date, rest assured—we will honor every single booking. Your special day or night will go exactly as planned, with the same attentive service we’ve built our reputation on.
Part of a Larger Rebrand
This change isn’t happening in isolation. West Suburban Limousine is in the midst of a thoughtful rebrand—one that celebrates our nearly 60‑year history while positioning us for the next 60 years of service.
- We’re refreshing our visual identity, our messaging, and the way we share our story.
- We’re highlighting our legacy of trusted chauffeurs and deep Chicagoland roots.
- And we’re investing in the vehicles that match how people celebrate and travel today.
This is more than retiring a type of vehicle. It’s about embracing a vision that ensures West Suburban Limousine remains the first name people think of when they want to ride in comfort and style.
Looking Ahead
The stretch limousine will always hold a special place in our history. But we’re excited for what’s ahead: a fleet of modern Mid-Size Crossovers, Sprinters, and SUVs designed to meet the needs of today’s riders while staying true to the care, reliability, and professionalism that have defined us since 1966.
Thank you for being part of our story and our legacy. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
